A Brief Summary About Our Pre-School

Our ethos is to provide quality care and education for all children taking into account of their individual needs.

We are registered by the local authority and we have been inspected (OFSTED) to take a maximum of 30 children per session aged between 2 and 5 years. Our OFSTED rating is good.

We are a member of the Pre-school Learning Alliance and have taken part in their Quality Assurance scheme.

We are covered fully by insurance.

We receive funding from the local authority which is Newham Council.

All staff are fully trained and DBS cleared to work with under 5s.

We work within the EYFS curriculum to offer a broad range of activities according to the child's age and stage, which aims to stimulate and develop every child to their full potential and covers the desirable learning outcomes in the areas of development.

We are very well resourced and plan activities in advance to make sure that resources are available to meet each and every child's needs.

We operate a key person system to help planning and progression for individual children which allows information to be shared with parents/carers.

We have a management committee made up from elected parents/carers.

Our constitution has clear aims and objectives, which ensures that the welfare of the children and parental involvement is paramount.

We work to agreed policies and procedures which include: Admissions, Equal Opportunities, Safeguarding Children, Settling In, Non-Collection of Children, Health and Safety, Hygiene, Confidentiality, Parental Involvement and Student Placement. These ensure everyone is fully aware of our expectations and commitment to delivery a quality service. Our policies are reviewed on a yearly basis and can be viewed in-person at the pre-school.

We actively promote the inclusion of all children, including those with special needs by giving priority placements where possible to referred children. We have 2 senco level 3 qualified staff members for this.
We are a fully inclusive practice however, we are situated on the 1st floor and the building has no lift facilities. We work with outside professionals to support children with special needs.

As a community pre-school we recognise and value the skills and experience which parents and carers have and we encourage them to use these skills within the pre-school.

We recognise that we are situated in a multi faith area and take into account the diversity of needs.

The views and contributions of parents/carers will be invaluable to the monitoring of the service and will be requested through regular evaluation questionnaires. However, if you ever feel that you wish to discuss any issues or raise concerns you can use the complaints procedure or speak to the manager or management committee.

All our staff are DBS checked which is renewed regularly and we work within the legal framework of specified adult:child ratio. Students and volunteers are supervised and work alongside staff.
